Learning Opportunities

During the CMI 2010, there are opportunities for a variety of learning experiences. If you have questions about any of the sessions, or if you are a first-time attendee and would like help in selecting sessions, please seek help from our staff at the registration tables.

Keynote Addresses

There will be a keynote address each day which helps to focus our institute on current thinking about mapping. Each keynote helps to connect participants with the further development of ideas which are presented in breakout sessions.

Coaching Sessions and Specific Consultations

For coaching sessions listed on the program, please go directly to the listed room.  These sessions are open to everyone and focused on a specific aspect of Mapping and Curriculum 21. For individual and group consultations with a specific consultant, a sign-up sheet will be available each morning at the registration table.

Breakout Sessions

Each presenter has been carefully selected for his or her expertise based on practical knowledge of Curriculum Mapping and 21st Century Curriculum. These sessions are designed to move theory to practice.

Round Tables

This is a format in which there is a topic of interest to a smaller group of people. The session is designed for group interaction in which the presenter facilitates the discussion.

Computer Access

In addition to wireless access, several computer labs are located throughout the building. Individual participants may use open computers at any time. Groups who wish to pursue common online activities may sign up for labs on an as-available basis.

Vendor Sponsors

This year we have a variety of sponsors and a CMI Bookstore which will all be located in the Sidewalk Cafe. Major sponsors also have a room in which they will provide on-going demonstrations and consulting.

Film Viewing and Discussion

This year we have added a new session category. In these sessions participants will view thought-provoking films followed by a facilitated discussion of how such films could and should be integrated into 21st Century learning.
